Objectives

The key objective of the Department is to provide healthy food to the patients, attendants, workforce and students of Patel Hospital and Patel institute of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences.

Food Services Department

This Department comprises of Manager, Dietitian, Supervisors, Diet Assistants and well trained production and service staff, dedicated to provide better Food Services topatients, attendants, workforce, faculty and students of Patel Hospital and Patel Institute of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences. The Food Service Department of Patel Hospital provide following services: (a) Food Services (b) Nutrition Services

Food Services

Patel Hospital Food Services Department (FSD) is responsible to provide meal services for In-patients according to their therapeutic needs; these meals are prepared under sanitary standards. Therapeutic diet is prepared by specially trained Cooks and is evaluated by well trained Dietitians. It also provides meal services to faculty and students in Cafeteria and to professionals and other dedicated employees of the hospital at subsidized rates. Further, FSD provide meal services to the guests and visitors of patients.

Nutritional Services

Nutrition section of Patel Hospital FSD covers both In-patient and Out-Patient Services to provide dietary care with the aim to promote nutritional well being. The department works closely with the Medical Staff. Patients who are unable to eat food are feed through Tube Feeding. Individual counseling of patients on Enteral Feeding is carried out in cases like Nasogastric Feeding, PEG Feeding and Jejunostomy Tube Feeding. Our Nutrition Department seeks to integrate Nutrition Service with delicious food and excellent hospital service. Dietitians design Food and Nutrition program and plan menu of the patients according to their therapeutic needs. Range of diet is offered like Clear Fluid, Full Fluid, and Soft and Regular diet. Dietitian & Dietitian Assistants are always ready to help patients to understand and follow the diet.
